GAP YEAR GIRLS SAVE EARTH FROM DR EVIL 001
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010
Zoe and Cassandra’s Gap-Year experience turned out to be a truly spectacular CV burster…. and, as it happens, changed the course of our wonderful blue planet’s history. Whilst traversing the globe (on the look-out for fun and photo-opportunities) in their very pink campervan, they unwittingly uncovered the most dastardly of all ‘destroy the world’ type conspiracies. ‘This one’ was cooked up by Dr Evil (low-esteemer extrordinaire) during one of his ‘more disagreeable’ days. However, before he could push the big red button releasing his ‘ducks of doom’ to wee in the water and give us all ‘bad tummies’, the gritty gals ploughed their trusty VW into his battlewaggon. In doing so they dispatched ‘his grumpiness’ forever into the darkest pit of oblivion they could find on a limited travel budget. When our heroines finally return from ‘gapping’, ’saving the world’ etc. they will start their courses reading alcopop and pot noodle labels at The University of Bryn Parry… We wish them well and will send them two copies of the stupendous ‘Backpacking with Brian’ (available at www.authorhouse.co.uk price £8.30) as a fitting gift in honour of their great service to mankind and VW sales. You can see the covers of this cult classic at www.authorhouse.co.uk that is, if you can be bothered…………..
Episode 19 B – Budgeting during your Gap Year
Sunday, January 31st, 2010
Part 2 of an exciting episode: Budgeting during the gap year. Now that you’ve added up your costs and saved your money to afford your amazing gap year experience be careful not to blow it all like a silly tourist. Spend money like you live there, not like you’re just visiting. Fundraising – if you’re helping humanity then maybe you can get humanity to help you. Don’t be afraid to ask, but I’d only do that if your motives are truly altruistic and sincere. Skip “it’s all about the Benjamins” Burns
